Ok, I’m on a roll with these ethnobotanical leaflets. Here’s another interesting one: Vanilla. Did you know that Vanilla comes from the seed pod of a certain type of orchid? It’s a tall vining thing, with a small flower that only lasts for a day or two. I saw them growing wild at a remote garden called “Casa Orquideas” on the Golfo Dulce in Costa Rica a few years back. A bit too big for the house, unfortunately.
