Orchid Cheat Sheets

I’m constantly confused by the abbreviations for orchids. Oh sure, I throw “Phal” and “Phrag” around like I’m an old pro, but truthfully, those are just about the only two I know.

I learned about two sites tonight on the American Orchid Society (AOS) Forum that will help decipher the abbreviations:

Species Orchids

Hybrid (“Intergenetic”) Orchids

I know I’ll never be mystified by a DTPS again.
