For the past few days

For the past few days I’ve been day-dreaming about planting up some cool-season vegetables on the deck — lettuce, spinach, some snap peas. I hesitated because I thought perhaps we’d have another frost. Frost!! Mother Nature figured she could do one better. This morning we woke up to snow. When I looked out the window this morning the faint hope flashed through my mind that someone was playing an April Fool’s joke, sitting on the roof shaking potato flakes out of a box over my window. No such luck.
I’m prepared to do battle. This weekend, I plant seeds — outdoors, on the deck.
